Job Description

Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse in the United States, operating a large network of restaurants that embody the welcoming Australian theme and culinary style Outback Steakhouse is known for. Since Outback Steakhouse first opened in March 1988, it has grown into a beloved dining destination offering serious food enjoyed in a casual and fun atmosphere. Out West Restaurant Group prides itself on its commitment to a company culture that respects, values, and encourages its team members, who are affectionately known as Outbackers. This culture embraces the philosophy of treating people "Just Right," which drives success through respect, camaraderie, and a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality. The group also strongly supports community involvement and charitable giving, proudly contributing to organizations like California Care and CORE that assist restaurant employees and their families in times of need.

Working with Out West Restaurant Group means becoming part of a team focused not only on delivering a unique AUS-SOME dining experience but also on helping employees grow their skills and careers in the restaurant industry. The company fosters a hospitable environment that rewards hard work, perseverance, and leadership, making it an ideal workplace for those who want to have fun while making money. Employees benefit from a comprehensive range of health insurance plans, paid sick leave, holiday closures on Thanksgiving and Christmas, a flexible schedule, meal discounts, and an employee assistance program to ensure overall well-being.

The position available is an hourly, non-exempt role with a competitive wage of $16.90 per hour plus tips. This opportunity is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced team environment and are eager to engage guests, maintain cleanliness and service quality, and support operations across the restaurant. As a vital member of the team, Outbackers are responsible for bussing tables, sanitizing public areas, resetting dining spaces efficiently, answering phones professionally, and upselling menu items with a good knowledge of food and beverages. This role demands excellent teamwork as all Outbackers support one another to ensure every guest receives memorable service and an exceptional dining experience.

Out West Restaurant Group proudly upholds equal employment opportunities without discrimination and is fully compliant with California labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, equal pay initiatives, and protected rights for employees. The company requires all newly hired staff to complete employment eligibility verification and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations as mandated by law. Those hired for this role will also have access to growth opportunities, including a shift leader program with extensive on-the-job training.

In summary, this role offers not only a rewarding hourly wage and tips but also the chance to become a valued team member within a leading franchise group poised for continual growth and dedicated to creating positive workplace experiences. Whether you are starting your career in hospitality or seeking a dynamic environment to thrive, Out West Restaurant Group invites you to join the Outback family and contribute to making each guest’s day better through AUS-SOME service.
