Dedicated to serious food along with an atmosphere of fun and hospitality, Outback Steakhouse is recognized for its unique culture that values respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm. The Group's philosophy centers around treating people "Just Right," which fosters an environment where both guests and employees, known affectionately as "Outbackers," thrive together. By combining memorable dining experiences with an empowering work culture, Out West Restaurant Group continually nurtures success for every member of the team.
As an employer, the Out West Restaurant Group is committed to fairness, respect, and equal opportunity. The company proudly maintains a diverse workforce, making employment decisions based on business needs and qualifications without any discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or other protected statuses. Awarded multiple prestigious honors such as the Monitor 200 Award for ranking in the top 50 franchisees in the U.S. for four consecutive years and the International Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 for excellence in local community service, the Group also actively supports important non-profit organizations like California Care and CORE which provide essential assistance to restaurant employees and their families.
The role of an Outbacker at Out West Restaurant Group is a vital position focused on delivering a memorable and AUS-SOME dining experience to every guest. This is an hourly and non-exempt position offering $16.90 per hour plus tips. Outbackers play a key role in the restaurant team by making lasting first and last impressions with customers and supporting the commitment to perfectly tailored service. Responsibilities span bussing and cleaning tables, maintaining cleanliness and service standards in public areas, offering informed recommendations about food and drink menu items, and handling guest inquiries professionally both in person and over the phone.
This position is well-suited for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and possess a commitment to safe food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols. Outbackers enjoy opportunities for growth through programs like the Shift Leader training and are part of a hospitable culture that recognizes effort and leadership. The company offers a flexible schedule and an array of employee benefits including comprehensive health insurance, paid sick leave for eligible employees, meal discounts, and a company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program. The Out West Restaurant Group also honors holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas by closing operations to allow employees to spend quality time with family and friends.
Joining Out West Restaurant Group as an Outbacker means becoming part of a respected and fun-loving family committed to both employee success and customer satisfaction. The company’s culture of encouragement, training, and opportunity allows for career advancement within the largest Outback Steakhouse franchise in the nation. Whether just starting out or looking to grow a career in the hospitality industry, this role provides a meaningful work experience where dedication is rewarded and everyone has the chance to contribute to and share in the company’s ongoing success.
