The Busser role at Twin City Grill is pivotal to maintaining smooth operations and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Responsible for supporting the service team, Bussers play an essential role in exceeding guest expectations by maintaining cleanliness, replenishing table settings, and assisting with food and beverage service where needed. This position demands teamwork, strong organizational skills, and keen situational awareness to anticipate guest needs and contribute to a seamless dining environment.
Busser responsibilities include resetting tables promptly, transporting dirty dishes efficiently to designated areas, and ensuring the dining areas are tidy and inviting at all times. Flexibility is required as Bussers work varied shifts including weekends, often attending to sections with multiple tables simultaneously. Physical stamina is vital, given the need to safely move furniture and lift various weights throughout shifts in a sometimes busy, noisy, and temperature-variable environment.
Successful candidates will be communicative, able to multitask under pressure, and demonstrate a calm, patient demeanor when interacting with guests and team members alike. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Physical stamina to perform job tasks
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills
- Team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is a plus
Job Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
- Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends
- Physical ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds and stand and walk for an entire shift
- Teamwork and organizational skills
- Experience in a restaurant environment preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Clean and reset tables and transport dirty dishes to bus tub, tray or dish room
- Available to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
- Effectively service a minimum of an eight table section
- Safely and effectively move chairs, tables, highchairs and booster seats
- Clean and reset tables and transport dirty dishes to bus-tub, tray or dish room
- Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction
- Ability to multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
- Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
- Able to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces
