This opportunity is with a well-established independent franchise hotel owned and operated by Stanford Hotel Corporation, a separate entity from Marriott International, Inc. This franchisee is fully responsible for the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, compensation, benefits, discipline, staffing, and other employment-related matters. Job Requirements
- Minimum three years experience as a Hotel Sales Manager with similar capacity
- high school graduate
- some college education preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- relevant military experience in a comparable role

Job Duties
- Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue
- meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average with negotiation within guidelines
- promptly handle inquiry calls and monitor paperwork flow related to client function confirmations
- compile sales leads from diverse sources including newspapers and directories
- solicit new and repeat guest room and meeting business and maintain key client accounts
- conduct sales calls minimum 4 hours daily (3 days a week) and telemarket for business
- use site inspections and onsite luncheons to book business
- maintain relationships with regional competitors and monitor pricing and service levels
- evaluate potential business for profitability and hotel benefit
- negotiate transient rates annually and ongoing
- employ upselling techniques while maintaining service at luxury standards
- follow up on progress of booked clients to ensure maximum occupancy
- personally meet VIP guests and clients to ensure needs are met and gather feedback
- generate thank you notes and follow up on negative client feedback
- solicit repeat business and represent the hotel in community and industry events
- participate in marketing plans, promotions, and service strategies
- prepare weekly reports on financial booking performance and solicitation activities
- adhere to budgeted wage and hour limitations
- attend departmental and interdepartmental meetings
- cooperate with all hotel departments to assure customer satisfaction
- route guest commendations to responsible associates
- notify management of pertinent shift activities
- determine and follow up on requirements for special groups and VIPs
- participate in Hotel Manager on Duty program
- follow supervisor instructions and complete assigned duties
