Job Description

This job opportunity is with a hotel that is independently owned and operated by Stanford Hotel Corporation, a franchisee that operates separately from Marriott International, Inc. This distinction means that employment at this hotel is under the franchisee’s policies and practices, rather than Marriott’s. As a hospitality establishment, the hotel provides lodging, event space, and related services, aiming to offer a luxury and high-profile experience to its guests and clients. The environment is driven by guest satisfaction and competitive excellence in the marketplace, making it an engaging workplace for professionals passionate about the hospitality industry.

The role available is that of a Hotel Sales Manager, a pivotal position responsible for generating significant room and function revenue while maintaining the luxury service standards the facility is known for. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly salary of $39.79, reflective of the expertise required. The Hotel Sales Manager will manage a variety of responsibilities including sales and marketing initiatives designed to meet or exceed preset booking goals for guest rooms and event functions. They are the front line connecting potential clients and guests to the services offered by the hotel, ensuring all communications and confirmations are handled promptly and professionally.

In this role, the successful candidate will develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients, create sales leads from various sources, and conduct outreach efforts including on-site luncheons and facility tours. They will be engaged in direct sales through outside calls and telemarketing, dedicating significant time to client engagement to ensure the hotel maintains a competitive edge in the local market. The position requires the ability to evaluate business opportunities with an eye for profitability and contribution to the hotel’s overall success. Negotiations, often involving room rates and event pricing, will be a key duty to balance financial performance with client satisfaction.

Administrative duties also form an important part of the role, requiring the Hotel Sales Manager to prepare detailed reports on bookings, financial performance, and sales activities. Adherence to budget constraints and active participation in departmental and interdepartmental meetings will support the smooth operation of the hotel’s sales functions. There is also an expectation to uphold excellent relations with other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction remains paramount.

Moreover, the candidate will be part of the Hotel Manager on Duty Program, requiring flexibility and responsiveness in managing hotel operations during assigned shifts. They will handle VIP guests personally to secure a positive experience and gather valuable feedback. Representing the hotel in community and industry-related events will also be a priority, helping to build the hotel’s profile and networking opportunities within the luxury hospitality sector.

Overall, this opportunity is suitable for a seasoned hotel sales professional with at least three years of experience in a similar capacity, who is driven by results and passionate about luxury guest experiences. The position offers a supportive and rewarding environment with a comprehensive benefits package that underscores the employer’s commitment to their team. This is an excellent chance for a candidate looking to leverage their skills in a dynamic and competitive hospitality market, contributing directly to the growth and reputation of a distinguished franchise-operated hotel.
