The role of Regional Business Development Manager at Lipari Foods is crafted for a dynamic and proactive professional who thrives on identifying and securing new business opportunities. This position focuses on seeking new item placement within both existing and new accounts, ensuring consistent and superior service. The manager is tasked with maintaining the revenue and gross profit margins of each account, guaranteeing profitability in alignment with annual business targets. As the company’s strategic growth agent within a defined multi-state region, the Regional Business Development Manager will work closely with a support team including the Regional Sales Manager, Vice President Territory Manager, National Customer Service team, Logistics personnel, and senior leadership. This collaborative network ensures client expectations are not only met but exceeded.

Additionally, the position demands a strategic “hunter” mentality, actively pursuing business development goals by establishing and nurturing professional and productive relationships with key personnel in regional accounts. The role involves coordinating the input and resources of various company departments, working toward defined account performance objectives and customer satisfaction. One of the key components is participation in joint strategic account planning sessions that set mutual performance objectives, financial goals, and critical milestones to support sustainable long-term growth. The manager must stay in continuous contact with customers, proactively assessing, clarifying, and validating their needs to tailor solutions effectively. Managing day-to-day account responsibilities along with overseeing the broker network within budgetary and performance expectations is integral to the position.

The role requires substantial travel — approximately 80 percent — across a broad geographic footprint including Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Candidates for this position should possess a strong team attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the capability to work efficiently under pressure, and the ability to multi-task and interact with diverse groups across the organization. Job Duties

  • Identify and development of new business targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives, must be a hunter

  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers expectations
  • Participates in a joint strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for sustainable growth
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel
  • Manage all facets of the day to day account responsibilities
  • Manage the broker network by utilizing budgets and expectations
  • This role requires approximately 80% travel across IL, WI, IA, MO, MN, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK and TX
