MetroLink Tulsa is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Bus Operators. This role goes beyond simply driving a bus — it involves being a frontline community ambassador tasked with ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of all riders. Bus Operators will operate MetroLink Tulsa vehicles expertly along assigned routes, adhering to established schedules, and complying with all safety and legal regulations. They will provide courteous assistance to passengers, including those with disabilities, ensuring that all riders have access to a positive and accessible transportation experience.

The position is designated as safety sensitive and requires compliance with drug and alcohol testing protocols regulated by federal transit authorities. In this role, Bus Operators will conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensure proper fare collection, assist riders with disabilities including operating wheelchair lifts, and maintain constant communication with operations supervisors. They will be responsible for accurate record-keeping concerning incidents, vehicle defects, and any safety matters. Operators also play a crucial role in emergency preparedness and professional development, participating in ongoing training to enhance their skills and ensure continuous improvement. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements (or willingness to obtain one through MetroLink Tulsa's training), and a clean driving history with no more than two moving violations in the past three years. Candidates should be at least 18 years old, able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and be willing to pass a background check and drug screening.
