Job Description

Transdev is a prominent global leader in the transportation industry, specializing in mobility solutions across cities, counties, airports, companies, and universities throughout the United States and worldwide. With a workforce of 32,000 employees across 400 locations in the U.S. alone, and a global network of 110,000 team members operating in 19 countries, Transdev is dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and innovative transportation services that empower people with the freedom to move every day. The company manages more than 17,000 vehicles, delivering mobility services that emphasize safety, professionalism, and customer care. Recognized for its commitment to operational excellence and inclusivity, Transdev offers a workplace environment that supports diversity and reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

The current job opening at Transdev in Savannah, GA, invites qualified individuals to join the organization as either CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Drivers or non-CDL drivers. This is a full-time position governed by a collective bargaining agreement, which ensures fair labor practices and competitive wages. CDL holders can expect to earn $26.00 per hour, while non-CDL drivers earn $19.25 per hour. Additionally, employees benefit from evening and weekend pay differentials, including $1.00 for hours worked after 8:00 PM on weekdays, $2.00 for Saturday and Sunday hours, and $3.00 for hours after 8:00 PM on weekends. This role requires candidates to have open availability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

The position focuses on transporting passengers safely and comfortably, requiring the driver to uphold the highest standards in safety operations, customer service, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance concerns promptly, and keeping the vehicle clean and safe. The role demands attentiveness to passenger needs to ensure smooth boarding, comfortable journeys, and timely disembarkation. Adherence to company policies such as seat belt enforcement and emergency response readiness are integral to the position, reflecting the organization's commitment to safety and professionalism.

Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A or B license with passenger and air brake endorsements, be at least 21 years old, and demonstrate a minimum of three years of driving experience. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, along with the flexibility to work day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as assigned. Transdev emphasizes safety and regulatory compliance, so candidates must be willing to undergo DOT-mandated drug testing and physical examinations, conforming to the strict federal standards that prohibit Schedule I drugs usage, including cannabis.

Physical requirements include the ability to work flexible hours, withstand various weather conditions, and perform physical tasks such as sitting for extended periods, walking long distances on uneven or slippery terrain, and lifting or pushing items weighing up to 50 pounds. Safety in heavy traffic and exposure to environmental elements like dust, fumes, and noise are also part of the work conditions.

Transdev offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time employees, including up to 160 hours of vacation annually, five paid personal days post-probation, ten holidays (nine standard and one floating), a 401(k) retirement plan, and medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability coverage, and optional long-term disability after 90 days. The company is an equal opportunity employer that promotes a drug-free workplace and provides support for candidates requiring reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.

Joining Transdev means becoming part of a global entity dedicated to providing essential mobility services that impact communities and individuals positively every day.
