The Bus Driver position at Hunters Wood is a part-time, non-exempt role integral to the community's commitment to facilitating resident mobility and engagement. Reporting directly to the Community Manager, the Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to local shopping excursions and other approved destinations using the community's passenger bus. This role requires a high level of responsibility and independence, as the driver is expected to manage routine driving operations and exercise sound judgment in escalating any unusual situations to management. Consistent attendance is crucial, as it directly affects the smooth operation of transportation services, resident satisfaction, and team coordination.

The role includes preparing the bus at the start of shifts by ensuring it is in proper working condition and adhering to scheduled routes while complying with all traffic laws. The driver warmly greets residents, prospects, and visitors, assists with boarding and disembarking, and helps with carrying shopping bags, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience for all passengers. Special consideration is given to safety protocols, including strict enforcement of a no-smoking policy on the bus. At the end of each shift, the driver is responsible for returning the bus to its designated parking area, securing the keys, and reporting any irregularities.
