Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must pass a DOT physical exam
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate buses safely in diverse traffic conditions
- Demonstrated customer service ability
- Committed to following safety procedures and regulations
- Capable of performing pre-trip inspections and completing DVIR
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with dispatch and passengers
- Physical ability to assist customers with disabilities
- Ability to manage fares and conduct accurate passenger counts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to safely operate various bus types
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing bus operation
- Ability to assist passengers with disabilities
- Skilled in safety and accident prevention
- Experience with pre-trip inspections and DVIR completion
- Effective communication and conflict management skills
- Ability to operate bus equipment including farebox, lift, and radio
Job Duties
- Acts as front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customer service
- Safely operates several types of buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic safely and prudently
- Transports passengers safely and courteously according to specified routes
- Complies with all federal, state, and local laws about the operation of buses, traffic, and safety
- Ensures the highest quality of bus service is delivered to our customers
- Assists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner including helping customers with disabilities on and off the wheelchair lift
- Promotes safety awareness, follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents
- Performs pre-trip inspection and completes DVIR to ensure bus and equipment are in safe, proper working condition
- Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information to radio dispatch and responds to instructions given
- Follows procedures for collection, processing, and documentation of fares and counts passengers as required
- Reports and properly follows up on all accidents or unusual incidents
- Makes effective independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety, experience, training, and policies
- Operates all bus equipment safely including farebox, lift, radio, and emergency equipment
- Other duties as required
