Job Description
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of the Marriott International portfolio, is a prestigious luxury hotel brand known for combining timeless glamour with a spirit of innovation. With over 50 luxury hotels and resorts located in prime destinations worldwide, St. Regis is dedicated to providing exquisite guest experiences that blend classic sophistication with contemporary elegance. The brand, famously launched with its debut hotel in New York City by John Jacob Astor IV in the early 20th century, has upheld a legacy of exceptional service tailored to the needs of its guests. At St. Regis, guests benefit from impeccable personalized service that includes exclusive butler offerings and a welcoming team of hosts who maintain the highest standards of hospitality.
This full-time, non-management position is based in New York City at Two East 55th Street at Fifth Avenue, offering an hourly wage ranging from $16.31 to $21.75, with a tip-eligible structure. Additionally, the training and paid time off rate ranges between $32.62 and $43.50 per hour, underscoring the companys commitment to fair compensation. The role centers around food and beverage service, emphasizing professional, courteous, and efficient delivery of services to all guests.
As a food and beverage service team member, you will be responsible for setting up, cleaning, and organizing tables, serving essentials such as water, bread, and coffee, and ensuring a welcoming dining environment. Greeting guests by name when possible reinforces the brand's dedication to personalized service. Your duties will also include stacking trays for efficient clearing, maintaining safety standards, and completing closing tasks that involve storing reusable items, cleaning equipment and areas, replenishing supplies, and completing daily cleaning checklists.
This role requires you to maintain pristine work areas throughout your shift, inspecting the cleanliness and presentation of all dinnerware prior to use, and practicing rigorous health and safety standards. Upholding company security policies, maintaining a professional appearance, preserving confidentiality, and protecting company assets are also essential aspects of this position. Beyond these responsibilities, you will engage warmly with guests, anticipating their service needs, expressing sincere thanks, and fostering positive relationships with team members to achieve shared goals.
Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, safely lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, and navigating inclined or uneven surfaces. The position also poses various physical motions such as reaching, bending, twisting, and manipulating objects of varying sizes. Flexibility to perform additional reasonable duties as requested by supervisors is expected.
St. Regis values diversity and inclusion, promoting equal employment opportunities and welcoming applicants from all backgrounds. They maintain a discrimination-free work environment, in compliance with current laws regarding disability, veteran status, and other protected categories. Joining St. Regis means becoming part of a global team where you can perform your best work, realize your purpose, and develop your best self in an environment that celebrates varied talents and cultural backgrounds.
