Job Description

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, part of the renowned Marriott International family, is a globally recognized hospitality brand with a rich legacy dating back to 1937. Sheraton has grown to become a beacon for travelers and communities around the world, renowned for creating welcoming environments where guests can connect, relax, and enjoy meaningful experiences. With over 400 communities worldwide, Sheraton is committed to fostering a sense of belonging and delivering attentive service that delights guests and encourages return visits. The brand operates as part of Marriott International's impressive portfolio, benefiting from vast resources, global recognition, and a dedication to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity in the workplace.

This Food and Beverage Service Associate position is located at the Sheraton property in Sacramento, California, at 1230 J Street. It is a full-time, non-management role offering a wage of $20.15 per hour plus eligibility for tips. The position is not remote, requiring physical presence on-site to deliver direct service to hotel guests. The role primarily focuses on providing professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a high standard of hospitality that aligns with Sheraton's and Marriott International's values.

The associate is responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure food and beverage service areas are presented excellently and operate smoothly. Duties include setting up and cleaning tables, serving water, bread, and coffee, and greeting guests, ideally by name, to create a personalized dining experience. Effective communication with team members and adherence to safety standards are crucial components of the role. Closing duties include properly storing reusable items, breaking down merchandise, cleaning equipment and work areas, replenishing supplies, securing refrigeration units, and completing daily cleaning checklists. Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of porcelain, glassware, and silverware before use is also essential.

The work requires physical stamina to stand, sit, and walk during prolonged shifts and to handle objects up to 50 pounds. The associate must safely navigate uneven or slippery surfaces and comply with all health and safety regulations. Sheraton values individuals who maintain neat, professional attire and personal grooming, protect company assets and confidentiality, and contribute positively to team dynamics. There is no prior supervisory experience required, and educational expectations include a high school diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

Joining Sheraton Hotels & Resorts means becoming part of a global community that celebrates diversity and inclusion, encourages personal and professional growth, and strives to create meaningful experiences for every guest. Employees at Sheraton are not only hospitality professionals but ambassadors of a brand dedicated to bringing people together from all walks of life. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in team environments, appreciate attention to detail, and seek to contribute to the memorable hospitality that Sheraton promises its guests. By becoming a part of Sheraton, you will embark on a rewarding career journey where you can perform your best work, fulfill your purpose, and evolve into your best self.
