As a nonprofit organization, HOPES CAP, Inc. operates with the mission to empower individuals, foster community development, and enhance well-being by providing essential resources such as early childhood education, transportation, and facility maintenance. The organization strongly values collaboration, innovation, and a supportive work environment, offering employees opportunities for growth as well as comprehensive benefits to promote work-life balance and professional development.
The role of Bus Assistant/Custodian at HOPES CAP, Inc. is an essential position focused on ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of children during transportation and maintaining the cleanliness and orderly condition of company facilities. This hands-on role requires a compassionate, attentive individual who understands the importance of child safety protocols on the bus and has the ability to perform custodial duties to create a safe and welcoming environment. Bus Assistants/Custodians support transportation services by assisting children with boarding and disembarking the bus, verifying safety restraints, and maintaining attendance records to guarantee that every child is accounted for during transit. The position also involves supporting emergency bus evacuation drills and educating children on safety workshops to keep preparedness at the forefront.
In addition, custodial responsibilities include regular cleaning, organization of spaces, upkeep of supplies, and reporting maintenance needs to keep all facilities in excellent condition. This dual responsibility ensures that HOPES CAP, Inc.'s spaces are not only clean and orderly but also safe and well-maintained for all staff and children. The position demands strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families within the agency.
Applicants for the Bus Assistant/Custodian position should have at least a high school diploma and a minimum of one year of experience assisting with school bus operations. Basic computer skills are also necessary to communicate through email and maintain accurate records. Flexibility and readiness to work with basic cleaning tools are critical, as is a commitment to following all safety regulations and organizational policies. Joining HOPES CAP, Inc. means becoming part of a vibrant community that supports your growth, offers generous health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, and additional incentives such as a $2000 sign-on bonus, retirement plans with employer matching, life insurance, and paid time off.
Overall, the Bus Assistant/Custodian role at HOPES CAP, Inc. offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives while contributing to maintaining an orderly, safe, and healthy work environment. This position is perfect for compassionate, detail-oriented candidates who are eager to play a vital supportive role in a community-focused organization.
