The position of Bus Monitor at OCDC involves assisting the Bus Driver in the safe transportation of children on the school bus, ensuring a healthy and educational environment during travel. This role is essential in maintaining safety protocols, supervising children diligently, and fostering positive communication between staff, parents, and children about their needs and activities. The Bus Monitor supports compliance with both OCDC and state regulations concerning child transportation, helping to load and unload children safely, verifying the identity of children and authorized individuals, and ensuring appropriate use of car seats and seat belts during transit. Moreover, this position emphasizes maintaining a clean and organized bus environment and promoting transportation safety education. The Bus Monitor also assists with medication procedures on board the bus, ensuring proper storage and documentation when needed.
