The Shift Leader role at GPS Hospitality is an essential position within the restaurant team. Shift Leaders are not only trained to perform all duties carried out by general Team Members but also take on the added responsibility of directing the daily operations of the restaurant during the Restaurant General Manager's and Assistant Manager's absence. This leadership role requires a strong focus on maintaining company standards across various operational areas including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance, and team management. Shift Leaders are expected to embody the company's values by setting an example through their work ethic, operational proficiency, and leadership qualities. Additionally, this position demands excellent problem-solving skills and the capability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant setting. The role offers individuals an exciting opportunity to showcase their leadership skills while contributing directly to the success and smooth operations of the restaurant. This is a full-time employment position with opportunities for career development through structured training programs and ongoing coaching provided by GPS Hospitality.

Job Requirements

  • physical ability to perform motions such as bending, squatting, twisting, pulling and reaching
  • ability to work in warm and cold temperatures
  • ability to stand for 8-10 hours
  • ability to lift up to 20lbs

Job Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail setting
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume setting
  • must be 18 years old and authorized to work in the US

Job Duties

  • Ensure your team provides outstanding service and satisfied guests
  • train and coach the team
  • utilize GPS Hospitality Systems to run a great restaurant every shift, every day
  • set an example by maintaining an excellent working knowledge and high level of proficiency in restaurant operations
  • provide coaching and feedback to the team
  • supervise in accordance with GPS values, traits and behaviors
  • demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
  • follow and enforce all cash policies
  • address and document any policy violations
  • perform any/all other duties as assigned by the Restaurant General Manager (RGM)
