We are currently seeking experienced Restaurant General Managers (RGM) to join our energetic and service-focused team. The RGM plays a crucial leadership role, overseeing the entire restaurant operation to guarantee it meets and exceeds GPS Hospitality's high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. The successful candidate will lead a team of managers to drive operational efficiency, sales growth, and excellent guest experiences. This position offers a performance-based bonus program, reflecting the importance of both operational excellence and financial management. Responsibilities include hitting sales and profit budgets, executing accurate scheduling and labor projections, maintaining a safe and clean restaurant environment, hiring and training a customer-obsessed team, and implementing tight restaurant controls especially regarding cash and inventory.

The Restaurant General Manager will work a flexible schedule that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, late nights, and weekends, committing to at least one full weekend each period. Strong leadership and critical thinking skills are essential to supervise and motivate staff, enforce policies, and implement marketing promotions. This role involves regular communication with management at all levels and external engagement with the community to boost the restaurant's visibility and reputation. As part of GPS Hospitality's commitment to professional development, the RGM will also focus on training and mentoring Assistant Managers and Manager Trainees to cultivate future leadership talent within the company. Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of general manager experience in a restaurant or retail setting
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • excellent customer service skills
  • must be able to perform under pressure in a high-volume setting
  • must have reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
  • must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the US
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of General Manager experience in a restaurant or retail setting
  • high school diploma or GED preferred

  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety and employment law

  • familiarity with cash and inventory controls
  • capability to manage diverse shift schedules and weekends

Job Duties

  • ensure team provides outstanding service and satisfied guests
  • hire, train and coach the restaurant team
  • utilize GPS Hospitality systems to run a high-quality restaurant, especially accurate projections and great schedules
  • implement restaurant controls, especially cash and inventory
  • frequent contact, both inside and outside the restaurant, with the public, business, and various community organizations to develop and improve the restaurant's public relations
  • meet standards for speed of service, food safety and cleanliness
  • demonstrate strong critical thinking skills
  • maintain a clean and safe working environment and ensure all equipment is clean and maintained
  • work all shifts including breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night and weekends each week
  • work at least one full weekend each period
  • follow all government regulations, employment law, food safety, operations policies and cash policies and implement all accounting controls
  • supervise in accordance with GPS values, traits and behaviors
  • communicate effectively with all levels of management about plans, progress and problems
  • successfully implement all marketing promotions
  • participate in the implementation of company policies, standards, training and management development
  • train and develop the capabilities of Assistant Managers and Manager Trainees in management skills and technical knowledge
