We are currently seeking experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Managers (RGM) to join our team at our location in Jackson, Mississippi. This full-time position places you at the helm of daily restaurant operations, leading a team of managers and crew members to achieve operational and financial goals. The RGM plays a pivotal role in driving restaurant performance by ensuring that quality, service, and cleanliness standards meet or exceed GPS Hospitality’s expectations.

As an RGM, your core responsibilities include meeting sales and profit budgets, executing accurate staffing projections and schedules, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards, hiring and training service-oriented crew and shift leaders, and managing tight restaurant controls such as cash and inventory. The role demands strong leadership, operational expertise, and ability to motivate a team toward excellence. You will be responsible for not only achieving financial success but also cultivating a work environment that promotes employee development and guest satisfaction.

This position offers a performance-based bonus program, reflecting the company’s dedication to rewarding results and encouraging continuous improvement. You will be engaged in all aspects of restaurant management — from marketing promotion implementation to rigorous adherence to health, safety, and operational policies. Given the hands-on nature of the role, the RGM will work various shifts including breakfast, lunch, dinner, late nights, weekends, and at least one full weekend every period to ensure smooth operations at all times.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of general manager experience in a restaurant or retail setting
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • excellent customer service skills
  • must be able to perform under pressure in a high-volume setting
  • must have reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
  • must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the US
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Ensure team provides outstanding service and satisfied guests
  • Hire, train and coach the restaurant team
  • Utilize GPS Hospitality Systems to run a high-quality restaurant, especially accurate projections and great schedules
  • Implement restaurant controls, especially cash & inventory
  • Frequent contact, both inside and outside the restaurant, with the public, business, and various community organizations to develop and improve the restaurant's public relations
  • Meet standards for speed of service, food safety and cleanliness
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills
