Job Description
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, stands as a premier U.S. supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, in addition to hardgoods and various related products. Recognized as one of the largest safety product suppliers and a leading provider of ammonia products and process chemicals in the United States, Airgas thrives with 18,000 passionate associates who collectively drive the company’s culture of safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide—a global leader operating in over 60 countries with approximately 66,500 employees—Airgas serves more than 4 million customers and patients worldwide.
This particular opportunity is for a Bulk Driver position based in Greeley (Denver), CO, specializing in ammonia production and filling operations. This is a full-time role offering a competitive compensation rate of $30.25 per hour. The Bulk Driver will operate Class A Tractor Trailers, Bobtails, and Tankers to deliver critical products to local customers either on scheduled routes or as needed. Airgas supports its employees through comprehensive family benefits starting just 30 days after employment, which include medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; parental support with paid childbirth benefits; and retirement security via a 401(k) plan with company match. Additional perks such as tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program further enhance the working environment.
The Bulk Driver role is central to Airgas’s commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Drivers must adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when handling highly hazardous materials like Anhydrous Ammonia and Ammonium Hydroxide. Responsibilities include performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining correct load manifests and delivery documents, and ensuring all safety rules are observed meticulously. Drivers will engage in direct communication with customers to address SOPs and resolve any service inquiries, maintaining professional conduct and appearance while upholding vehicle cleanliness and operational efficiency. This position demands physical capability, including the ability to lift 60 pounds or more, and requires candidates to work independently under pressure to meet delivery deadlines, sometimes involving overtime or occasional overnight stays.
Airgas places high importance on diversity and inclusion, valuing the diverse backgrounds of its workforce as a source of strength and innovation. The company actively fosters a workplace culture that embraces differences, enabling employees to express their talents and collaborate effectively in a dynamic and changing world. As such, Airgas is an equal opportunity employer welcoming applicants regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected status. The employer also ensures reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities to facilitate equal access to employment benefits and opportunities.
This role requires candidates to be at least 25 years old and hold a valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements obtained before the hire date. Applicants must have at least two years of commercial motor vehicle experience within the last four years and meet stringent safety standards, including a clean driving record without preventable accidents and serious violations within specified timelines. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and completion of an accredited truck driving school may substitute for a year of required experience. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential for handling delivery documentation and communication.
Joining Airgas means becoming part of a global leader that prioritizes safety, innovation, and employee growth in the industrial gases sector. It is a chance to contribute meaningfully to delivering essential products safely and sustainably while advancing a rewarding career in a supportive and inclusive environment.
