Job Description
Zen Educate is an innovative education staffing organization dedicated to addressing the educator shortage crisis by connecting schools with passionate and qualified teaching assistants, paraprofessionals, and substitute teachers. The company focuses on creating efficient and smart matches that benefit both the educational institutions and the individual educators, improving the quality of student learning experiences and fostering supportive community environments. Established with a commitment to positive educational outcomes, Zen Educate serves as an essential partner for schools needing reliable and skilled substitute teachers to maintain continuity in the classroom. Their approach enhances schools’ ability to manage staffing needs effectively while offering teachers meaningful opportunities to gain experience and advance their careers.
Zen Educate is currently hiring substitute teachers to work in inclusive and special education classrooms for the 2026/2027 school year. These roles are not seasonal or temporary summer positions; they are full-year opportunities designed for those aiming to build professional teaching experience, develop instructional skills, and make a lasting impact on students’ academic and personal growth. The positions involve supporting multiple classrooms within a single school building, enabling substitute teachers to build strong, ongoing relationships with school staff and students, while gaining a well-rounded understanding of diverse learning environments. This consistent placement provides a unique chance to engage deeply with students, particularly in inclusive and special education settings, which can be both rewarding and professionally enriching.
The role of the substitute teacher at Zen Educate demands flexibility, dedication, and a passion for fostering positive learning environments. Substitute teachers are expected to follow the assigned lesson plans, maintain classroom discipline, and ensure the safety and well-being of all students throughout the school day. The schedule runs from Monday to Thursday with working hours typically between 7:30 AM and 3:00 or 4:30 PM depending on school needs. Compensation for these positions ranges from $150 to $170 per day, with weekly pay and benefits such as paid sick leave and a 401K plan available to eligible employees. Zen Educate emphasizes an inclusive recruitment process and encourages candidates with a professional proficiency in English who hold the necessary certifications, including a Substitute Teaching License for Arizona and an IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, to apply.
By joining Zen Educate as a substitute teacher, you not only secure a vital role within a supportive educational team but also play a crucial part in shaping the future of learning. The organization’s commitment to quality education and teacher empowerment makes it an excellent choice for educators looking to deepen their classroom experience, contribute to student success, and thrive in a professional educational environment. Those interested are encouraged to apply early, as positions are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis, ensuring a prompt start ahead of the new school year.
