Located in the United States, it stands as a hospital dedicated to meeting the diverse medical needs of its community through advanced technology, highly trained professionals, and patient-focused services. The center values an inclusive work culture that promotes equality and provides full and equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on any legally protected statuses. This environment ensures employees feel valued and empowered to contribute their best work while fostering professional growth and a sense of fulfillment.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician to join our hospital staff during the day shift, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, working seven and a half hours per day. This position is essential to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within patient rooms, surgical suites, emergency rooms, and other clinical areas. The role is integral to infection prevention efforts, ensuring that Richmond University Medical Center remains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
As an Environmental Services Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting a variety of clinical spaces, including performing terminal cleaning of discharged patient rooms in accordance with infection control protocols. You will sanitize high-touch surfaces and replenish supplies in restrooms and communal spaces to support ongoing hygiene and comfort. Handling and disposal of biohazardous waste and sharps containers safely will be a critical component of your daily tasks, requiring strict adherence to hospital safety guidelines. Proficiency in operating hospital-grade cleaning equipment such as UV disinfection systems and floor scrubbers is expected, alongside consistent use of personal protective equipment to prevent infection transmission.
This position demands a compassionate attitude, as you will be working in sensitive areas such as ICUs, emergency rooms, and isolation rooms, where patient confidentiality and respect are paramount. You will respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests and spills, demonstrating flexibility and reliability. Documentation of cleaning activities is required to comply with hospital policies and support quality assurance measures.
The Environmental Services Technician role at Richmond University Medical Center offers competitive pay ranging from $25.134 to $26.461 per hour and a stable work schedule with days off on weekends and holidays. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks effectively. The hospital provides comprehensive support to its employees, emphasizing workplace safety with mandatory PPE use and adherence to established protocols.
Joining Richmond University Medical Center means becoming part of a passionate and driven team that truly believes in the importance of their work. Employees enjoy the satisfaction of making a tangible difference in patient care through their commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment. If you thrive in a fast-paced healthcare setting and appreciate working with enthusiastic, dedicated professionals, this career opportunity offers an excellent platform for growth and meaningful contribution.
