This position, employed by itel Laboratories, Inc., a Nearmap company, is based onsite in Jacksonville, Florida. The Building Materials Analyst role is critical to our quality assurance and product development processes. The analyst will be responsible for preparing samples, measuring product specifications, and thoroughly analyzing materials using specialized laboratory equipment. A key part of the role involves verifying sample conditions, recording data meticulously, and generating detailed reports that reflect the accuracy and compliance of materials analyzed.

The analyst will operate various lab instruments such as microscopes, calipers, vision systems, and spectrometers to evaluate attributes of building materials, particularly focusing on industries like flooring, siding, and roofing. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as the position demands adherence to industry standards and the ability to document any deviations or unusual findings effectively. Communication with manufacturers and distributors is also part of the daily responsibilities, ensuring that product information is verified and clearly reported.

In addition to laboratory responsibilities, the analyst will support disaster recovery initiatives and building wrap exercises geared toward hurricane preparedness, which are vital for protecting properties in vulnerable regions. This cross-functional cooperation requires adaptability and the willingness to assist other departments as needed.

Candidates for the Building Materials Analyst role should possess at least two years of related experience, preferably in relevant construction materials sectors.
