The CBRE Building Engineer role is a critical position within the Engineering and Technical Services function, focusing on the upkeep and operational efficiency of building systems. This full-time position typically operates Monday through Friday with a start time between 7:30 and 8:30 am. The role requires the engineer to be on-site at a primary location while also providing support to other local facilities, utilizing a company vehicle for work-related travel. Physical demands of the job include the ability to perform tasks such as stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting or carrying loads exceeding 50 pounds. Compliance checks, including a clean driving record, background verification, drug screening (including marijuana), and a workplace physical, are mandatory prerequisites.

The Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and monitoring a wide range of building systems including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, HVAC, and structural components. This role requires expertise in preventive maintenance to maximize the life span of building machinery and ensure all systems perform at peak efficiency. The engineer must comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. A key aspect of the role is to assist with energy management programs to optimize system operations and reduce costs while upholding client-prescribed environmental standards. Candidates for this role will possess in-depth knowledge of relevant building systems and must demonstrate the ability to analyze complex technical data to provide effective solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), is preferred.
