Job Requirements

  • six months of experience in custodial maintenance work
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs and ladders
  • ability to work in various environmental conditions including exposure to chemicals, dust, noise, and extreme temperatures
  • must possess a class C driver’s license and provide a current three-year driving record
  • obtain Texas driver’s license within 30 days if not a current resident
  • must carry UT ID during work hours
  • willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency shifts
  • dependable and punctual
  • able to adhere to uniform and professional appearance standards
  • ability to follow security and key control procedures
  • pass criminal background check
  • provide a resume and three work references, including one supervisor reference
  • eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • six months of experience in custodial maintenance work
  • high school graduation or GED preferred
  • more than one year custodial experience preferred
  • knowledge of custodial cleaning techniques and safety practices
  • ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
  • ability to work independently or in a team
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow instructions and safety protocols

Job Duties

  • clean and maintain assigned buildings including public spaces and restrooms
  • work according to established procedures using prescribed equipment

  • secure buildings and follow locking, unlocking, and alarm procedures
