The opportunity at Glacier is for a Build Technician to join their production team in their San Francisco office located in the Dogpatch neighborhood. This is a salaried, non-exempt, temporary role with a duration of three months and potential for extension. The position offers a prorated annual pay rate range from $70,000 to $85,000. The Build Technician will play a key role in assembling and testing the company’s cutting-edge robotic sorting machines and scanners, following detailed instructions from the engineering team. This hands-on role involves managing the build facility, tools, and supplies to maintain smooth production operations. The technician will provide valuable feedback to engineers to improve build designs and instructions, ensuring continued product refinement and quality.
In addition to assembly and testing, the technician will assist the operations team with customer installations, which may require up to 25 percent travel. Travel assignments typically last up to a week and occasionally require working nights and weekends. Attention to detail is crucial when performing incoming inspections of custom parts using technical drawings. Furthermore, collaboration with R&D and field service engineers is essential for updating and refining assembly standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test protocols. Job Requirements
- Proficiency with tools and equipment commonly used in a hardware manufacturing environment such as hand tools, power tools (electric/air), measurement tools, and electrical tools (multimeter and similar)
- 2+ years professional experience assembling robotic systems or similar complex machinery
- Ability to occasionally move items weighing up to 50 lbs around install/build sites with reasonable accommodations
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending technical documents such as assembly SOPs and test processes
- Ability to work from the San Francisco office (SOMA neighborhood) on most days of the week
- Ability to travel and work on-site occasionally (typically up to a few days at a time), including some nights and weekends
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Build and test in-house robots and scanners following engineering instructions
- Organize and maintain build facilities, tools, and supplies
- Provide feedback to engineers regarding build design and instructions
- Assist with customer installations and packing with occasional travel and overnight or weekend shifts
- Perform incoming inspection of custom parts using part drawings
- Collaborate with R&D and field service engineers to refine assembly SOPs and test protocols
