The Food Runner / Buffet Attendant position at Hyatt is a dynamic role that plays a crucial part in the overall guest experience by ensuring the seamless operation of buffet services and food delivery within the hotel. This role primarily involves setting up, maintaining, and breaking down buffet stations while keeping buffet items fresh, hot, and visually appealing to guests. The attendant is responsible for transporting food from the kitchen to buffet areas and guest tables or lobby bars, ensuring timely service and replenishment. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of buffet areas, equipment, and utensils is a critical aspect of this role to uphold Hyatt's high standards of food safety and hygiene. Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid Texas food handler's certificate
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as buffet attendant or food runner role is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred
  • A valid Texas food handler's certificate is required

Job Duties

  • Promptly deliver food from the kitchen to guests and buffet stations with accuracy and care
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and replenishment of buffet areas throughout service
  • Monitor food levels and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely refills
  • Ensure all buffet items are presented attractively and meet food safety standards
  • Assist servers and hosts with guest needs, including clearing tables and resetting as needed
  • Support setup and breakdown of buffet stations, including equipment and decor
  • Communicate effectively with culinary and service teams to ensure smooth operations
