This position involves working as a Cook I within the company’s food service operations, preparing various meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and hors d'oeuvres to standards established by the Executive Chef. The role requires a friendly and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and coworkers and the ability to maintain cleanliness and order in the work area throughout the shift. Physical stamina is essential, as the position requires standing for a full shift and handling typical kitchen tasks such as using kitchen tools and equipment proficiently. Candidates may be assigned additional duties as directed by supervisors or management.
Successful candidates for this role will bring knowledge of kitchen operations, including the ability to read and execute recipes, recognize food quality issues, and apply basic math skills for measurements and recipe yields. There is an emphasis on safety, including the completion of ServSafe Alcohol training certification, and adherence to workplace safety requirements such as proper handling of electrical equipment and maintaining awareness in a moderate noise environment. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Knowledge and ability to use all kitchen tools and equipment
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Knowledge of weights, measures and recipe yield
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to identify all products used in kitchen operation
- Ability to recognize spoiled or questionable products
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute recipes
- Ability to stand for a full shift
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course
- Apprentice for Certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of weights, measures and recipe yield
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to identify all products used in kitchen operation
- Ability to recognize spoiled or questionable products
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute recipes
- Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course
- Apprentice for Certification preferred
Job Duties
