The Tulalip Tribes is a sovereign Native American tribe located in Tulalip, Washington, dedicated to fostering a thriving and culturally rich community. They operate numerous enterprises and government services aimed at improving the lives of tribal members and the surrounding communities. Among their diverse business ventures is Remedy Tulalip, a cannabis retail establishment committed to providing quality recreational and medical cannabis products in a professional and customer-focused setting. Remedy Tulalip prioritizes regulated sales, excellent customer experience, and adherence to tribal and state laws concerning cannabis distribution.
The Budtender role at Remedy Tulalip offers a unique opportunity to join a fast-paced environment where customer interaction and product knowledge are key. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and offers a competitive pay range between $18.47 and $27.70 per hour. The Budtender will be responsible for assisting guests with their cannabis selections, handling cashier duties, managing inventory, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the retail space. As the face of the dispensary, Budtenders must possess strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a courteous demeanor when engaging with customers.
This role requires a thorough understanding of cannabis products, their effects, and the legal requirements involved in their sale. Employees must complete I.D. training for cannabis purchases within 60 days from their hire date, ensuring compliance with age verification and sale regulations. The Budtender position demands physical stamina to work extended periods on their feet and perform tasks such as stocking shelves, lifting, bending, and working in variable weather conditions when necessary.
Employees are expected to have a minimum of six months of cannabis retail experience or demonstrate enrollment and certification in recognized Budtender training programs. Expertise in cash handling and guest services is also essential. Furthermore, the ideal candidate must exhibit the ability to operate POS systems effectively, perform record-keeping, manage inventory, and contribute to a clean and welcoming store environment.
The position requires candidates to be at least 21 years old with a successful employment history. They must be able to communicate effectively, follow both oral and written instructions, and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and customers alike. As this is an on-site role, employees must be willing to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a readiness to adapt to the needs of the business.
The Tulalip Tribes support their employees with comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off, fostering a supportive workplace culture. This role does not offer telecommuting or relocation assistance, emphasizing the importance of presence within the community and the workplace.
In summary, the Budtender at Remedy Tulalip plays an essential part in delivering exceptional service and safety in the cannabis retail industry while contributing to the prosperity and well-being of the Tulalip community. Those who take on this role will find it rewarding both professionally and personally, with opportunities for growth within a respected tribal enterprise.
