Job Description
Buca di Beppo is a renowned Italian restaurant chain that spans locations from New York City to Honolulu, embodying the rich Italian traditions of food, friendship, and hospitality. With a menu inspired by generations of dishes from villages throughout Italy, Buca di Beppo features a diverse array of Northern and Southern Italian favorites, beloved by millions of diners coast-to-coast. Beyond its delicious food, the restaurant is well-known for its quirky decor and vibrant, upbeat atmosphere, creating a unique dining experience that celebrates Italian culture and cuisine. Buca di Beppo prides itself on being a family-oriented business that values its employees as family members, fostering a workplace environment rooted in sincerity and enthusiasm. The company's vision is to be the first choice for celebratory dining, delivering over-the-top celebratory experiences with vibrant Italian food served in an eclectic vintage setting.
The role of the Wait Assistant at Buca di Beppo plays a pivotal part in creating exceptional guest experiences. This position is designed to support the Server and Bartender by attending to guests' needs promptly and courteously. Responsibilities include running food and beverages to guests, resetting tables efficiently with clean linens and condiments, and ensuring dining areas remain spotless and well-stocked throughout service. Wait Assistants are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant’s food service areas, which involves tasks such as scraping and stacking dirty dishes, cleaning up spills, polishing surfaces, and restocking inventory. The Wait Assistant also prepares and serves non-alcoholic beverages upon request and works closely with servers to facilitate smooth and high-quality service.
Successful Wait Assistants at Buca di Beppo demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, earning trust and respect through honesty and professionalism. They contribute to a cooperative team environment, maintaining high standards in customer service by anticipating and exceeding guest expectations. The role requires adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing business needs and work responsibilities. Candidates should be capable of using all their sensory capabilities, including vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and speaking effectively. While prior restaurant experience is not required, bussing or similar experience is preferred, and a high school degree or equivalent is beneficial but not mandatory. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. This position is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking to join a dynamic, family-oriented restaurant brand dedicated to providing memorable dining experiences and a supportive work environment.
