The Cook role at Buca di Beppo is essential to delivering this celebrated dining experience. The Cook contributes directly to the restaurant’s success by preparing all menu items according to strict specifications, ensuring high quality, great taste, and timely delivery. This role includes maintaining an organized, clean, and safe kitchen environment and working closely with the kitchen team to uphold food safety and sanitation standards. The Cook is responsible for tasks such as stirring and turning foods, seasoning dishes, inspecting readiness through sensory checks, measuring and mixing ingredients accurately, and managing food inventory and station setup. Attention to detail is paramount, including memorizing ingredients and portion sizes, respecting kitchen policies, and attending to continuous line checks to maintain quality.
This position requires the ability to handle kitchen equipment safely, assist in cleaning and organizing the kitchen and storage areas, and maintain strong communication and teamwork skills. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant
- ability to use vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and speaking skills
- capacity to perform physically demanding kitchen tasks
- ability to follow recipes and food safety procedures
- willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Consistently prepare high-quality food in a timely manner and follow all company recipes and specifications
- turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
- season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
- observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently using tasting, smelling, or piercing methods
- weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work station and kitchen
- inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices
- comply with portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase supplies
- set up line according to kitchen guidelines and par sheets
- pre-cut ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and deli-meats to reduce preparation time
- check kitchen equipment operation
- stock stations to par levels
- check stations for equipment and tools
- memorize all ingredients and portion sizes for menu items
- wrap, date and refrigerate food
- sanitize cutting boards
- organize station shelves
- hand-clean knives
- complete and participate in line checks
- assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas
- wash hands frequently
