Job Requirements
- High School degree or equivalent preferred
- minimum of one year cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
- ability to use all sensory capabilities including vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and speaking
- physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job
- willingness to follow safety and sanitation policies
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- strong team collaboration skills

Job Duties
- Consistently prepare high-quality food in a timely manner and follow all company recipes and specifications
- turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
- season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
- observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently using sensory methods
- weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
- maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the work station and kitchen
- inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- comply with portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- estimate expected food consumption, requisition or purchase supplies, procure food from storage
- set up line according to kitchen guidelines and par sheets
- pre-cut ingredients to reduce preparation time
- check that kitchen equipment is operational
- stock stations to par levels
- check stations for equipment and tools
- memorize ingredients and portion sizes for menu items
- wrap, date, and refrigerate food
- sanitize cutting boards
- organize station shelves
- hand-clean knives
- complete and participate in line checks to ensure quality
- assist cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas
- wash hands frequently
- use kitchen utensils, knives, and equipment safely
- work as a team and use positive communication skills
- clean, stock, and maintain the line throughout shift
- follow all safety and sanitation policies
