The Cook position at Buca di Beppo is a vital role contributing directly to the restaurant's success and guest satisfaction. The primary responsibility of the Cook is to prepare all menu items according to established recipes and specifications for their station. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working line is also critical to this role. Cooks are expected to consistently produce high-quality food promptly, ensuring all dishes meet Buca di Beppo’s standards. This role demands a thorough understanding of cooking techniques such as timing, seasoning, and appropriate food handling to deliver excellent culinary results.
The Cook will engage in a wide array of tasks including turning or stirring foods to ensure even cooking, seasoning and cooking food according to recipes or experience, and testing foods by tasting or other sensory evaluation methods to verify adequate cooking. Efficiently managing ingredients by weighing, measuring, and mixing is essential to maintaining product consistency. Attention to cleanliness and sanitation at personal stations and the kitchen is a top priority to ensure the highest food safety standards. Additionally, the Cook will regularly inspect food preparation and serving areas, comply with portion sizes and kitchen rules, and participate actively in inventory management by estimating food consumption and stocking to par levels.

Job Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent preferred
- minimum one year of cooking experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
- ability to use all sensory capabilities such as vision, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching, and speaking
- ability to follow all safety and sanitation policies
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks safely
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Consistently prepare high-quality food in a timely manner and follow all company recipes and specifications
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work station and kitchen

- comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- estimate expected food consumption, requisition or purchase supplies, procure food from storage
- set up line according to kitchen guidelines and par sheets
- pre-cut ingredients to reduce preparation time
- check kitchen equipment operability
- stock stations to par levels
- memorize all ingredients and portion sizes for menu items
- wrap, date and refrigerate food
- sanitize cutting boards
- organize station shelves
- hand-clean knives
- complete and participate in line checks
- assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas
- wash hands frequently
- use kitchen utensils, knives, and equipment safely
- work as a team and use positive communication skills
- clean, stock, and maintain the line throughout shift
