Job Description

The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) is a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing brain tumor research, supporting patients and their families, and raising awareness about this challenging disease. Known for their commitment to making a significant impact in the fight against brain tumors, ABTA regularly hosts events such as the BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors to engage the community and garner support. This event is not only a fundraiser but also a celebration of hope and progress in brain tumor research. Volunteers play an essential role in the success of ABTA events, contributing their time and energy to various tasks that help ensure the smooth operation of activities.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and driven individuals aged 16 and older to join us as volunteers for the BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors event. Whether you prefer being active on the course, assisting at the event site, helping with pre- or post-event activities, serving on the planning committee, or supporting the event in many other ways, there is an opportunity for you to contribute your talents and make a meaningful difference. Volunteers will be fully supported by ABTA staff throughout their involvement, including comprehensive training before the event and guidance during the event day to ensure a positive and rewarding experience.

Volunteering at this event provides a unique chance to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to a worthy cause. It's an opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, develop new skills, and experience the satisfaction of giving back to the community. ABTA encourages groups to participate, allowing anywhere from one to more than fifty volunteers to join together. Events can be held at various volunteer group locations, such as offices or parks, providing flexibility for team involvement.

Please note that volunteers under the age of 16 require a signed parental consent form to participate. It is also important to highlight that while a donation to ABTA is requested, it is not a requirement for volunteering. This ensures that the opportunity is accessible to a diverse group of participants who share a passion for supporting brain tumor research and those impacted by this condition.

If you are interested in joining the team and making a tangible impact, you can register as a volunteer and explore all available volunteer roles for the event by visiting the ABTA volunteer hub website at https://abta.volunteerhub.com/vv2/. By volunteering for the BT5K Breakthrough for Brain Tumors event, you will become part of a meaningful cause driven by compassion, dedication, and the desire to create positive change in the lives of many individuals affected by brain tumors.
