Job Description

Dutch Bros Coffee is a dynamic and vibrant company that goes beyond just serving coffee. Established with a mission to love people, make a difference in the community, and provide extraordinary experiences, Dutch Bros Coffee has cultivated a unique culture centered on positivity, teamwork, and authentic connections. Known as a fun-loving and mind-blowing coffee company, Dutch Bros Coffee places great emphasis on community involvement and employee empowerment. Employees at Dutch Bros are affectionately called Broistas, and they form the foundation of the company's culture, upholding the fundamental philosophy of loving all and serving all. The company values each individual’s uniqueness and adaptability while fostering a people-first approach that radiates kindness and positivity in every interaction. This environment is designed not only to serve great coffee but to build strong relationships within the communities they operate in.

The role available is for a Broista, a position that offers much more than just a job. It’s an opportunity to become part of a team that encourages enthusiasm about the success of others and embraces authenticity and adaptability. Broistas engage with customers daily, creating memorable moments through friendly service and personalized beverage recommendations. This role requires embracing the Dutch Bros culture, which emphasizes speed, quality, and service, and the importance of delivering exactly what the customer ordered with a positive attitude. Reliability and team support are also crucial traits in this role, as Broistas are expected to maintain punctuality, communicate availability, and lend a helping hand when needed.

In return, Dutch Bros Coffee offers a supportive and empowering work environment that encourages generosity and community involvement. Employees receive 8 hours of paid volunteer time each year to contribute to their communities, alongside access to an Employee Assistance Program and Employee Resource Groups that support physical and mental health. The company is committed to employee development, offering an Education Benefit Program that provides up to $5,250 annually towards professional development after one year of service. Broistas also enjoy celebrating their achievements with Dutch Bros swag and free drinks, alongside comprehensive training programs designed to set employees up for success. Additional benefits include matching 401(k) contributions up to 4%, eligibility for a tip pool upon completion of training, and a culture that nurtures growth and positivity.

Working as a Broista at Dutch Bros Coffee involves an active and physically engaging environment. Employees should be prepared for up to ten hours of standing, walking, or movement per shift, with occasional stooping, kneeling, or lifting up to 65 pounds. Exposure to varying weather conditions is expected, with Dutch gear provided for comfort. The job also demands adherence to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Mafia Manifesto and Employee Handbook, a reliable transportation plan to ensure punctuality, and the ability to maintain required certifications such as a Food Handler Permit. Communication skills, including proficiency in English and the ability to perform basic math for cash handling, are necessary for success in this role.

Compensation for the Broista position can reach up to $16.00 per hour, which includes an average tip of $3.00 per hour based on 2024 data. While the company strives to maintain a fun and supportive environment with great co-workers, it does not guarantee tip averages as these may vary by location, position, hours worked, and quality of service. Overall, a career with Dutch Bros Coffee is ideal for those who enjoy working in a unique and fun atmosphere surrounded by a positive community and who want to make a meaningful difference one cup at a time.
