Job Description
The Phoenician a Luxury Collection Resort Scottsdale is an esteemed luxury hotel located in Scottsdale, Arizona, known for its rich history, exceptional service, and breathtaking surroundings. The resort is currently seeking a Broiler Cook to join its dynamic Food and Beverage & Culinary team. This full-time, non-management position plays a vital role in maintaining the high culinary standards expected at the resort. The Broiler Cook will prepare and cook food items meticulously according to recipes, quality, and presentation standards while ensuring food safety and sanitation regulations are rigorously followed. The role includes preparing ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling fruits and vegetables, weighing and mixing ingredients, and operating a range of kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers. The individual will also monitor food quality throughout preparation, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen workspace.
The position offers access to innovative culinary training opportunities via a partnership with Rouxbe Cooking School, an online platform providing numerous self-paced, visually engaging culinary lessons accessible to all levels of culinary associates. This unique training resource supports career growth and skill advancement, aligning with Marriott’s commitment to employee development. Associates will also have the responsibility to follow all company safety and security policies, maintain professional appearance and behavior, and foster positive working relationships within the team.
As an integral member of The Phoenician’s hospitality team, the Broiler Cook must be physically able to perform various duties including standing, walking for extended periods, reaching, bending, moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and responding to the fast-paced demands of a luxury resort kitchen environment. The role demands a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering quality culinary experiences that align with Marriott International’s dedication to excellence and guest satisfaction.

- high school diploma or g.e.d. equivalent
- at least 1 year of related work experience
- ability to stand walk or sit for extended periods
- ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
- ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
- no supervisory experience
- willingness to perform various kitchen duties as assigned

Job Duties
- prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food

- prepare cold foods
- operate ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
- test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
