The position available is a Back of House (BOH) team member specializing in meat preparation and kitchen line supervision at Ruth's Chris Steak House. This role is vital to the smooth operation of the kitchen and the delivery of the restaurant's signature dishes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chef and other kitchen personnel to ensure that all meats, poultry, and seafood are cut, prepared, and cooked according to the establishment's exacting standards. Responsibilities include assisting in meat cutting, food preparation, kitchen line supervision during service, and maintaining high levels of sanitation and safety throughout the shift.
Employees in this role are expected to adhere strictly to uniform and hygiene standards, be punctual as per their shift schedules, and carry out all opening and closing duties assigned by the Manager on Duty. The role demands a detail-oriented and reliable individual with a passion for quality food preparation and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Communication with the Chef and kitchen staff is key to identifying and resolving any issues with equipment, food quality, or safety protocols.
Additionally, the role requires maintaining the broiler and kitchen line for optimal operation, overseeing inventory levels of meats and related supplies, and ensuring all food is served fresh and at the correct temperature. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift, handle, and carry food, smallwares, equipment, supplies and paper goods at a minimum of 50 pounds constantly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to constantly stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four hours
- Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach and squat frequently
- Must be able to communicate effectively and listen attentively
- Must be able to taste and distinguish between flavors, spices, temperatures, mouthfeel and smell
- Must be able to work in environments with extreme cold (30 degrees), heat (above 100 degrees), loud noises, fumes, odors, dust and smoke
- Ability to speak, read and understand English
