Established in 1872, this award-winning hotel has cultivated a timeless charm and a reputation for exceptional hospitality, making it a cornerstone of Chattanooga's cultural and social scene. Renowned for its dedication to providing an outstanding guest experience, The Read House Hotel embraces the grandeur and opulence of the Roaring '20s, creating a vibrant atmosphere that reflects both luxury and a rebellious spirit. The hotel emphasizes a culture of genuine hospitality, camaraderie, and growth, empowering its team to deliver service excellence at every touchpoint. The Read House is proud to provide an environment where passion, individuality, and fun are cherished, fostering a strong sense of belonging and professional development among its staff. Bridgeman's Chophouse, the hotel's fine-dining restaurant, is a classic upscale chophouse named in honor of Peter Bridgeman, a devoted long-time employee who left a lasting legacy of hospitality. Bridgeman’s Chophouse is known not only for its exceptional cuisine but also for its commitment to delivering a personalized and memorable dining experience to every guest. The restaurant has been recognized as a finalist for Chattanooga's Best of the Best Hospitality Employer from 2022 through 2024, underscoring its reputation as a premier workplace within the local hospitality industry.
The Read House Hotel is currently seeking a professional and passionate Host/Server Assistant to join the team at Bridgeman's Chophouse. This part-time, evening shift role offers the opportunity to engage with guests directly, serving as the first point of contact and ensuring a warm welcome to the restaurant. The Host/Server Assistant plays an integral dual role—acting as both the host who manages seating and guest requests and as a server assistant who supports the wait staff in delivering impeccable dining service. The position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining the restaurant's high standards of cleanliness, organization, and service delivery. Working hours are typically from 4 pm to 11 pm, with potential variations during holiday periods. Compensation includes a wage of $14.00 per hour for the host role and $8.50 per hour plus tips for the server assistant function. The Read House Hotel offers comprehensive benefits, including paid time off, holiday pay, affordable medical plans, 401(k) with employer match, and employee discounts, emphasizing a supportive work culture and opportunities for career development. Individuals who thrive in dynamic hospitality settings and are motivated to contribute to an esteemed, growing company will find this role both rewarding and enriching.
