Job Description

Commonwealth Lodging Management is a reputable hospitality company dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through its diverse portfolio of hotels and food and beverage outlets. Known for its commitment to quality service and guest satisfaction, Commonwealth Lodging Management fosters a professional and engaging work environment that values teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement. The company prides itself on creating memorable stays for its guests by maintaining high standards in cleanliness, customer service, and operational excellence across all of its properties. The hospitality group's Food and Beverage department plays a crucial role in offering guests enjoyable dining experiences, combining great food, atmosphere, and attentive service. The department is staffed by skilled professionals who understand the importance of hospitality and strive to exceed guest expectations at every visit.

The Restaurant Server position within the Food and Beverage department is a vital role that serves as the primary point of contact for guests entering the dining area. This position requires a friendly, attentive, and professional individual who can ensure guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive until their departure. The Restaurant Server's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks focused on delivering exceptional service in a prompt and pleasant manner. This includes greeting and escorting guests to their tables, presenting menus, offering detailed information about menu items, and making informed upselling suggestions to enhance the guest experience. The role requires a solid understanding of proper table settings, the ability to accurately take food and beverage orders using POS systems or memorization, and efficiently serve food and beverages. Serving alcoholic beverages demands verification of guests' age in compliance with legal requirements, and servers must also handle payments and gratuities securely and with accuracy.

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the dining area is a critical aspect of the job, as is ensuring that used dishes and utensils are cleared and transported to the kitchen promptly. The Restaurant Server must effectively communicate with kitchen staff and fellow team members to coordinate orders and service smoothly. They help foster positive guest relations and are expected to resolve complaints proactively to ensure satisfaction. The position also adheres strictly to health department regulations, safety standards, and all company policies and procedures. Physical demands of the role include carrying trays with multiple dinners, lifting and transporting weights of up to 50 pounds, and being able to stand and move at a consistent pace for up to eight hours. Flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential to meet operational demands.

Overall, this role is ideal for someone passionate about hospitality who enjoys engaging with guests, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to maintaining professionalism and courtesy at all times. It offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, grow in the hospitality industry, and contribute significantly to the guest experience at a respected lodging management company.
