The Cambria Bloomington - Mall of America, part of the Choice Hotels family, is currently seeking a Server to join their dynamic restaurant team. This position offers an hourly wage between $14.00 and $15.00 plus tips, highlighting a competitive compensation package in the hospitality sector. As a Server at Cambria Bloomington, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding guest experiences by leading and supervising the restaurant team, managing day-to-day restaurant and banquet operations, and ensuring that the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence are maintained consistently.

This role requires a blend of leadership and hands-on service-oriented skills, allowing you to oversee meal preparation, provide guests with detailed menu information, take accurate orders, and ensure that food presentation and dining service meet the hotel’s impeccable standards. Your responsibilities will extend to maintaining an inviting and clean dining environment by efficiently clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables, as well as polishing silverware and folding linens to uphold the restaurant's elegant ambiance. By supporting the service team as needed and preparing beverage stations, including brewing coffee and setting out condiments, you will help sustain smooth restaurant operations across all shifts.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year restaurant serving experience
  • Must meet minimum age to serve alcohol based on applicable state law
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal liquor laws and regulations
  • Thorough understanding of safe and perceptive service
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to do basic math and handle cash
  • Ability to work with Point of Sale systems
  • Highly organized – demonstrate ability to proactively prioritize needs, put first things first, and effectively manage resources and time
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Ensure that meeting space is readied including providing guest with overview of menu choices
  • Take guest’s order and provide explanation of menu as appropriate
  • Prepare order for presentation to guest
  • Replenish water
  • Make and pour coffee for customers
  • Clear tables throughout the dining experience using proper methods for removing dishes, glassware and silverware
  • Clean tables, chairs and floor area
  • Reset table quickly
  • Polish silver and fold linens
  • Assist service team as necessary to meet and exceed guests’ expectations
  • Set up beverage stations for appropriate shift by brewing coffee and setting out condiments as appropriate
  • Create 100 percent guest satisfaction by providing the Cambria experience through performance that demonstrates genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations
  • Perform other duties as required by Management to provide 100 percent Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to Guests
