Job Description

This position is within the food and beverage (F&B) department of a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality establishment dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences to its guests. Such establishments are focused on providing excellent food service and high-quality customer experiences in a clean, organized environment. Working in this environment requires both technical knowledge of food and beverage service and an ability to interact positively with patrons to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere. Job Requirements

  • must tolerate prolonged periods of standing walking
  • occasional kneeling bending and stooping
  • must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed to carry trays of food
  • must tolerate exposure to cleaning solutions

Job Qualifications

  • food handler's permit required
  • alcohol beverage service certification as required by local ordinance desired
  • prior experience as a server in a restaurant café or hotel environment preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • professional appearance and positive attitude
  • ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including weekends days nights and holidays

Job Duties

  • greet guests promptly warmly and courteously
  • take food and beverage orders accurately and provide knowledgeable recommendations when needed
  • deliver orders in a timely manner and check back to ensure guest satisfaction
  • anticipate guest needs and respond to requests efficiently
  • maintain thorough knowledge of the menus including daily specials and preparation methods
  • serve food and beverages according to company standards for presentation and timing
  • monitor tables to ensure guests have everything they need throughout their dining experience
