Job Description

This position is within the food and beverage (F&B) department of a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality establishment dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences to its guests. Such establishments are focused on providing excellent food service and high-quality customer experiences in a clean, organized environment. Working in this environment requires both technical knowledge of food and beverage service and an ability to interact positively with patrons to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere. The Food Server plays a pivotal role in offering guests outstanding hospitality by taking accurate orders, delivering delicious food and refreshing beverages promptly, and ensuring guests remain satisfied throughout their visit. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the dining venue and directly influences the reputation and success of the establishment.

The Food Server is responsible for greeting guests warmly and promptly, taking food and beverage orders with accuracy, and offering helpful menu recommendations. They deliver orders on time and check back to confirm that guests' needs are met, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Additionally, the server manages financial transactions accurately by handling cash, credit cards, and room charges with integrity and adherence to company protocols. Maintaining cleanliness at all times is another priority, including dining areas, service stations, and workspace upkeep. The server supports team cooperation by assisting with restocking and bussing as necessary, working collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and management staff to maintain seamless and efficient operations throughout the shift. Compliance with all sanitation and safety policies ensures that guest health and safety are prioritized. Moreover, the Food Server must be able to stand for extended periods and carry trays weighing up to 40 pounds, highlighting the physical demands of the position.

Additional duties may include preparing food items, knowledge of bar menu offerings, and participating in the cleaning and sanitization of food prep areas, as dictated by the structure of the F&B department. Adaptability, professionalism, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this demanding yet rewarding role.   • must tolerate prolonged periods of standing walking

Job Qualifications

  • food handler's permit required
  • alcohol beverage service certification as required by local ordinance desired
  • prior experience as a server in a restaurant café or hotel environment preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • professional appearance and positive attitude
  • ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including weekends days nights and holidays
