We are currently seeking a diligent and motivated Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing food items for complimentary food service in strict accordance with established recipes and standards, ensuring all products meet safety and sanitation requirements. The position offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where the candidate can develop their culinary skills and progress along a potential career path that includes advancement opportunities from Lead Cook to Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and ultimately Food and Beverage Director.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for various food preparation duties including washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables, trimming and cleaning meats, preparing appetizers and cold dishes, and baking breads and other baked goods. Additionally, you will arrange and garnish food items to ensure appealing presentation for complimentary service or direct delivery to guests. Maintaining a clean, sanitized workspace is critical, as is proper food storage and adherence to safe food handling procedures to comply with health regulations.

This role demands awareness of guest satisfaction and a personal dedication to enhancing the overall dining experience. You will be expected to practice safe work habits, including the use of protective safety equipment, and embrace sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing our environmental impact. The position requires physical stamina and flexibility, with working hours that may vary including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts.

Successful candidates will possess previous culinary experience or equivalent training and ideally have obtained a Department of Health Sanitation certificate. A high school diploma is preferred. Job Duties

  • Follow recipes to prepare food items accordingly
  • Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables
  • Cut, trim, or clean meat
  • Prepare appetizers, salads, or cold dishes
  • Bake breads, rolls, or other baked goods
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food for complimentary food service or deliver to guests
  • Maintain clean and sanitized work areas such as cutting boards, counters and work spaces
  • Secure and store food items properly
  • Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction
  • Follow safe food handling procedures
  • Follow guidelines related to sustainability practices related to EarthView program
  • Practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
