As a Food Preparation Cook, you will be instrumental in ensuring the preparation and presentation of food not only meets but exceeds guest expectations. Duties include preparing appetizers, salads, and cold dishes, baking breads and other baked goods, and handling ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meat with expert care and precision. You will be responsible for portioning, arranging, and garnishing food for service or direct delivery to guests, ensuring high-quality presentation. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and proper food storage practices are also critical components of this role.
In addition to your technical skills, you will contribute to the overall guest satisfaction by being knowledgeable about and responsive to guest feedback scores. Adherence to safe food handling procedures and sustainability initiatives, such as the EarthView program, are crucial. The position requires practicing safe work habits and wearing protective equipment to maintain a secure work environment. This role requires flexibility in work scheduling, including the ability to work holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts, and physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting, and other physical activities.

Job Requirements

- previous culinary experience or equivalent training required
- Department of Health Sanitation certificate may be required
- ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Follow recipes to prepare food items accordingly
- wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables
- cut, trim, or clean meat
- prepare appetizers, salads, or cold dishes
- bake breads, rolls, or other baked goods
- portion, arrange, and garnish food for comp food service or deliver to guests
- maintain clean and sanitized work areas such as cutting boards, counters and work spaces
- secure and store food items properly
- be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction
- follow safe food handling procedures
- follow guidelines related to sustainability practices related to HHM’s EarthView program
- practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment
- ensure overall guest satisfaction
- perform other duties as requested by management
