One of the flagship properties under Marcus Hotels & Resorts is the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, a historic and iconic landmark situated in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. This hotel has been serving the capital city for nearly 90 years, becoming an integral part of Nebraska's heritage. The Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel is currently seeking a dedicated Breakfast Caf server to join its vibrant food and beverage team. This role is pivotal in shaping guests' morning dining experiences by delivering exceptional service and attention to detail. The Breakfast Caf server will interact face-to-face with guests, greeting them warmly, taking and inputting orders accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system, and ensuring that all menu items are well understood and properly promoted. The server will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and an inviting atmosphere in the service area, replenishing beverages as needed, and providing prompt, courteous check presentation.

In this role, servers are expected to have a solid knowledge of food and beverage preparation, including the proper service of various alcoholic drinks, while adhering strictly to state, federal, and corporate liquor laws. The ability to communicate effectively in English—both verbally and in writing—is essential for taking orders and promoting specials. Physical stamina and dexterity are also important, as the position involves carrying trays through a bustling dining room and executing tasks throughout busy and slow periods. Teamwork and a positive attitude are key qualities for success in this position.

Job Duties

  • Greets guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner
  • learns all menu items and takes orders inputting them into the Point of Sale system
  • replenishes beverages as requested and frequently checks back with guests to ensure satisfaction
  • maintains cleanliness and proper set-up of the service station before, during, and after the shift
  • presents the guest check promptly while thanking and inviting them to return
  • performs general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor
