The Breakfast Attendant role is crucial to maintaining a pleasant and efficient start to the day for guests at the hotel. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that the breakfast buffet and dining area are consistently well-organized, impeccably clean, and fully stocked throughout service hours. You will work closely with the team to create a welcoming atmosphere by delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service to all hotel guests. The role requires multitasking skills, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and maintaining a positive and engaging attitude towards both guests and colleagues. As a key member of the hotel's food service team, you will play an instrumental role in upholding the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.

Your responsibilities will include preparing and replenishing breakfast stations, ensuring cleanliness of all public dining areas and restrooms associated with the breakfast service, and managing inventory of food and cleaning supplies. You will also be expected to maintain communication with management regarding any needs for maintenance or improvements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to guest satisfaction. Flexible scheduling is essential, including availability on holidays, weekends, and evenings as required by hotel events and operational demands.

This position requires physical stamina as you will frequently lift items up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform a variety of physical activities such as bending, stooping, and climbing ladders. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food or service
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently
  • Ability to bend, twist, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and ascend and descend a ladder
  • Ability to hear, understand, and communicate orally and in writing with staff, vendors, and guests
  • Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Adherence to attendance and reliability standards
  • Willingness to follow all hotel policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food service or hospitality
  • Ability to follow instructions and multitask effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and engaging attitude when interacting with guests and coworkers
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards in food service

Job Duties

  • Represent the hotel with authenticity, enthusiasm, professionalism, and businesslike appearance and demeanor to all hotel guests, clients, prospective clients, agents, and the community
  • Ensure the morning breakfast and buffet has been properly set-up and continuing to stock as needed, in addition to proper break down and cleaning
  • Maintain decorations and communicate to management the needs for maintenance or improvement to provide the highest quality of service
  • Promptly clean table tops and chairs throughout breakfast hours as guests come and go
  • Maintain cleanliness of all breakfast room public spaces and restrooms, including but not limited to front of galley, breakfast buffet, and assigned restrooms
  • Retrieve all soiled linens to be sorted and treated
  • Maintain inventory of all food and cleaning supplies and communicate needs to a supervisor when necessary
  • Uphold a friendly demeanor with all guests and interact accordingly, including salutations upon entry and exit
