Job Description

Marine Corps Hospitality Services (MCHS) is a dedicated and comprehensive program committed to enhancing the quality of life for Marines, their families, and the broader Marine Corps Community. This particular position is stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii - Five Palms, an important installation that serves as a hub for various Marine Corps activities. The opening is for the role of Breakfast Attendant (Food Service Worker) NA-02. This role centers around providing excellent food service support primarily at lodging facilities but may extend to other food operation locations as assigned. The breakfast attendant is responsible for a variety of functions including setting up food service counters, steam tables, and dining room tables, ensuring all hot and cold food items such as meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages are properly presented. The incumbent may also serve food cafeteria-style or family-style, prepare coffee and various salads, make simple sandwiches, and pack box lunches. Beyond food preparation and service duties, this individual will maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of dishwashing equipment, unload deliveries, and manage some cashier responsibilities.

This role requires meticulous attention to sanitation standards and customer service as the attendant regularly interacts with customers, providing courteous and friendly assistance. The Breakfast Attendant must be proactive in problem-solving and adhere strictly to safety protocols and workplace regulations. In addition to the extensive hands-on food service duties, the position also involves continuous physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting, and moving items up to and over 45 pounds with assistance. The work environment can include hot kitchen areas, noisy settings, and exposure to various physical hazards like slips or minor injuries, emphasizing the need for vigilance and adherence to established safety measures. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior food service experience advantageous
  • ability to lift up to 45 lbs independently and heavier with assistance

  • registration with Selective Service if applicable
