The role of Breakfast Attendant within the Food & Beverage Department is a crucial position that directly impacts the morning experience of every guest. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, this non-exempt position is responsible for presenting a warm and friendly demeanor to welcome guests to breakfast. The Breakfast Attendant plays an integral role in assisting guests with their breakfast needs and ensuring the breakfast area is fully stocked and maintained at all times. This position demands excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine desire to provide outstanding service.
The successful candidate will greet guests promptly and escort them to their tables in a courteous and professional manner, offering information about breakfast options and answering any questions guests may have. They are responsible for clearing tables quickly to maintain a pleasant flow for all guests and ensuring the breakfast buffet area remains clean, organized, and adequately supplied throughout service. This position may also involve handling to-go orders and addressing guest complaints constructively to guarantee a positive dining experience.
In addition to delivering high-quality service, the Breakfast Attendant must adhere to all hotel policies, safety protocols, and hygiene standards to maintain the hotel's reputation for cleanliness and safety. The role requires physical stamina, as the attendant will stand throughout the shift, lift items of up to 40 pounds, and frequently bend, stoop, and reach. Job Duties
- Have a good understanding of all of the hotels operating procedures
- Greets guests and informs them of the breakfast options
- Treat guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
- Observes tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
- Cleans, organizes and stocks breakfast area
- Interacts with guests in and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience
- Fill to go orders, if applicable
- Handle guest complaints effectively
- Promote goodwill by being courteous, friendly and helpful to guests, managers and all other associates
- Team work
- Must wear uniform and nametag
- Must follow all policies and emergency procedures of the hotel
- Must maintain personal cleanliness
- Willing to work flexible hours
- Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests)
