Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least three months experience in a similar food service role
  • ability to stand continuously for entire shift and perform physical tasks such as lifting 20-40 lbs and pushing carts up to 100 lbs
  • excellent multitasking skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a busy environment
  • ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • capable of handling stressful and emotional customer service situations with tact and professionalism

Job Qualifications

  • high school education or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar position of 3 months or longer
  • must have high school graduate level mathematical aptitude
  • knowledgeable of safe food handling processes
  • experience dealing directly with the public and basic customer service skills
  • competent in oral and written English
  • able to read written communications and handle paperwork processing

Job Duties

  • be dependable and prompt, arriving on time and ready to work in a clean uniform and a nametag
  • prepare breakfast food and beverage items and set out all hot and cold food items following all food safety regulations
  • replenish all food and beverage items during the meal period, keeping all items fully stocked even until the last minute of service and ensuring safe temperatures
  • keep all tables bussed and cleaned throughout breakfast and happy hour, ensuring dining area is vacuumed and tidy
  • receive and unpack items from food vendors, date them, and pack according to safety standards practicing FIFO (First in, First out)
  • greet guests as they arrive for breakfast and assist with service and coffee replenishment as needed
  • build rapport with guests, solving problems when possible and reporting complaints or issues to management
  • learn about hotel guests through conversations, aiming to learn three pieces of information about at least 10 guests daily
  • pass on sales leads obtained during guest interactions to management
  • create and maintain a pleasant presentation for breakfast
  • maintain a clean breakfast area, store food, remove trash, and take it to dumpster as needed
  • continuously look for cost-effective ways to improve breakfast appeal
  • assist department with safety equipment and emergency procedures
  • maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous manner at all times
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
