Currently, Tiny's Bakery is seeking the skilled and motivated Pastry Cook - Bread Team to join its dedicated culinary team.

The role of the Pastry Cook - Bread Team is integral to the daily operations of the bakery, directly impacting the quality and consistency of the products offered. Reporting to the Bakery Manager(s) or the Executive Pastry Chef, this position is classified as non-exempt, with hourly pay reflecting the candidate's skills and experience. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing and producing cookie doughs, freshly baked pastries, and an assortment of prepped savory items that support both Tiny's Milk & Cookies and the associated restaurants. This role requires an individual with strong baking knowledge, the ability to follow both traditional and modern recipes accurately, and the capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-heat environment typical of a commercial bakery.

Key responsibilities include operating commercial baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, conveyors, and proofing cabinets, measuring ingredients precisely, and utilizing various mixing methods like creaming, whipping, and folding. The candidate will also employ basic knife skills for prepping necessary ingredients and maintain a clean, sanitary work station aligned with food safety regulations. Attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to inspect food products thoroughly to ensure consistency and quality. This position demands excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, as well as a neat and professional appearance that aligns with the company's standards. The baker must effectively collaborate with the team, respond to dynamic work conditions, and support banquet setups and outlet orders.

Job Duties

  • cinnamon roll forming, bread loafs, laminations, etc

  • ability to operate commercial baking equipment including, ovens, mixers, conveyors, and proofing cabinets
  • ability to accurately measure baking ingredients for productions using scales or graduated containers
  • basic knife skills including, chopping, cutting and dicing
  • handles and stores completed products
  • understanding of basic pastry kitchen terminology
  • inspect food products for consistency and quality
  • assist with the set up of banquet functions, outlet orders and breakfast production
  • great attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks effectively and quickly
  • must adhere to sanitation, safety and food regulations
  • maintains a clean and sanitary work station with proper mise in place
  • must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance, meeting the Pressed and Tailored standard
