The Bread Baker role at Thanksgiving Point is a full-time, non-exempt position within the Food Services category located on-site. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $23, with shifts scheduled between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday, including the requirement of open availability during weekends and holidays. This position is critical to the culinary team and supports the daily production of a wide variety of baked goods, pastries, and desserts that are served across multiple outlets, catering events, and retail operations within the organization. The Bread Baker is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation for all baked products while ensuring that the work environment remains clean, safe, and efficient.
In this hands-on role, the Bread Baker prepares and bakes an assortment of items such as cheesecakes, pastries, cookies, cakes, and various other bakery goods according to standardized recipes and production schedules. The job requires careful measurement, mixing, proofing, shaping, and baking of doughs and batters with meticulous attention to detail to ensure consistent and superior results. Additionally, the Bread Baker assists with decorating and finishing baked products and packages them appropriately for retail display or event catering. Managing inventory effectively, monitoring ingredient stock levels, and adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines including health department regulations and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are essential parts of the role.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in baking or culinary arts preferred
- Ability to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in a professional bakery or culinary environment preferred
- Basic knowledge of baking principles, ingredient functionality, and food safety
- Ability to follow recipes, scale ingredients accurately, and maintain consistent results

- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as production requires
- Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs

Job Duties
- Prepare and bake cheesecakes, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other bakery items according to standardized recipes and production schedules
- Measure, mix, proof, shape, and bake doughs and batters with attention to detail and consistency
- Assist with decorating, finishing, and packaging baked items for retail and events
- Maintain par levels and communicate ingredient or product shortages promptly
- Properly label, rotate, and store ingredients and finished goods following FIFO and food safety guidelines
- Operate bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, sheeters, proofers, etc.) safely and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness of production areas, equipment, and storage according to sanitation and safety standards
- Follow all health department, HACCP, and company food safety procedures
- Support daily setup, tear-down, and cleaning of workstations
- Assist in inventory counts and product organization as needed
- Collaborate with other culinary team members to meet production goals and timelines
