The Bread Baker role at Thanksgiving Point is a vital position within the culinary team, primarily responsible for producing a broad range of baked goods such as cheesecakes, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other bakery items. This full-time position offers shifts between 8 am and 10 pm, Monday through Saturday, with a requirement for open availability on weekends and holidays. Compensation ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and dedication needed to succeed in this role.

As a Bread Baker, you will be integral to daily production efforts, maintaining consistency and quality across all baked products served in retail operations and catered events. This position requires working closely with other culinary team members to meet production schedules and uphold the core values of Thanksgiving Point, which emphasize quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The baker must be proficient in measuring, mixing, proofing, shaping, baking, decorating, and packaging baked goods while strictly following standardized recipes and production plans.

In addition to baking responsibilities, this role involves maintaining production area cleanliness, managing ingredient inventory, and operating bakery equipment safely and effectively. You will also contribute to daily setup and tear-down tasks to support efficient kitchen and bakery operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous baking experience preferred
  • Availability to work full-time shifts between 8 am and 10 pm, Monday through Saturday, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Basic food safety knowledge

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and bake cheesecakes, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other bakery items according to standardized recipes and production schedules
  • Measure, mix, proof, shape, and bake doughs and batters with attention to detail and consistency
  • Assist with decorating, finishing, and packaging baked items for retail and events
  • Maintain par levels and communicate ingredient or product shortages promptly
  • Properly label, rotate, and store ingredients and finished goods following FIFO and food safety guidelines
  • Operate bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, sheeters, proofers, etc.) safely and effectively
  • Maintain cleanliness of production areas, equipment, and storage according to sanitation and safety standards
