With a diverse portfolio of properties, Sage stands out by fostering a culture that values innovation, passion, and entrepreneurial spirit. The group prioritizes both personal and professional growth for its employees, investing heavily in creating an engaging and supportive work environment. Sage Hospitality Group embraces risk takers and creative minds, encouraging all team members to break conventional norms and lead with originality and dedication. This approach has positioned Sage as an industry leader renowned for delivering top-tier service and memorable hospitality moments.
One of Sage Hospitality Group's standout properties is the Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas, a vibrant and contemporary independent hotel featuring 319 rooms and extensive meeting and event spaces totaling over 25,000 square feet. Situated in the energetic Rainey Street District, the hotel is known for its lively atmosphere, including live music at Geraldine's, lively poolside activities, and various curated pop-up events that capture the spirit of Austin culture. The hotel is designed to offer guests an experience that is dynamic, authentic, and memorable, reflecting the city’s unique character.
Sage Hospitality Group is currently looking to hire a Lead Bartender for Brass Poppy, the newly built lobby bar within Hotel Van Zandt. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and skilled bartender who thrives in an energetic and customer-focused environment. The Lead Bartender plays a critical role in setting up the bar, mixing and serving drinks to guests and cocktail servers, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and ensuring service quality aligns with Sage’s high standards. The position is responsible for guest satisfaction, adhering to beverage safety controls, and maximizing profitability.
The ideal candidate for the Lead Bartender role will have completed bartending training and certification, including being TIPS Certified. Candidates should have at least six months of bartending experience and be at least 21 years old to comply with state liquor laws. Physical stamina is essential for this role, as it involves lifting and carrying trays, supplies, and equipment, as well as continuous standing and maneuvering through a busy bar setting. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment are essential. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are also necessary for communicating with guests and team members.
The role also requires ringing up guest checks, handling various payment types accurately, and completing liquor requisitions and inventory tasks. Collaboration with restaurant leadership on drink recipes and product specifications is a key part of the job, helping ensure a creative and consistent beverage offering. Sage Hospitality Group offers this role with a wage of USD 12.00 per hour.
Overall, this opportunity is perfect for an independent thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset who is passionate about bartending and delivering excellent guest experiences in a well-established and culturally vibrant hospitality setting. By joining Sage Hospitality Group and working in the dynamic environment of Hotel Van Zandt, the Lead Bartender will contribute to creating exceptional moments for guests while enjoying personal and career growth in a supportive company that values creativity and excellence.
